Thin-Walled and Frame Structures

Frame structures are widely used as civil engineering structures either as frames made of pure steel or reinforced concrete or steel/concrete composite members or as hybrid frames where a combination of the previously mentioned members are used. In either variant, the numerical model of the frame needs to take into account all effects relevant for the considered problem. Therefore, it is not possible to use the same finite elements for modeling different types of frame structures. Work within this research field is focused on the development of new finite elements and advanced analysis algorithms suitable for analysis of thin-walled and frame structures.
